PE and Sports Premium

Sports Premium Funding for 2022 – 2023

We recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extracurricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude, and academic achievement of all our children.
Investing in physical activity for our children is a vital step in encouraging them to lead a healthy lifestyle for their future. Our vision is to provide active opportunities for our children and furthermore include all in healthy competition. We aim to deliver a programme of activities to improve agility, balance, coordination and most importantly the knowledge of the benefits of regular and sustained physical activity throughout life.

Our Sports Premium Funding will enable us to continue and extend our provision through employing additional sports professionals, entering more into competitive sports, competitions and training our staff to deliver high quality PE sessions

Swimming Data 2020-2021

At Stamshaw Junior School we provide our Year 5 children with 6 weeks of swimming to gain experience, confidence and knowledge of being in the water. 68% of our children have become competent swimmers with 60% being able to demonstrate a range of strokes. Furthermore, over 90% performed personal survival techniques. We look forward to continuing our Year 5 swimming lessons with our 2021-22 cohort.
