Homework

At Stamshaw Junior School we believe that a well organised homework programme helps children to develop the skills and attitudes necessary for successful life-long learning.

We aim to:

  • Provide clear, well planned, structured tasks that are linked to the relevant curriculum.
  • Ensure that homework allows for pupils to consolidate and deepen learning.
  • Encourage parents to become involved in their children’s school work,  particularly with creative projects.

Each half term we send out curriculum newsletters for each year group outlining what is to be taught in that half term.  Attached to the newsletter are homework details which includes reading daily, times tables practice (TT Rock Stars) spellings as well as a selection of projects that can be handed in, as and when, during the half term.
