World Book Day - Thursday 4th March 2021

World Book Day 2021 will be celebrated this year on Thursday 4th March and despite everything that is happening, we still want to make this a great day for the children where we celebrate a love of books and reading.

Last year’s World Book Day was a huge success and although we won’t all be together; we will still be taking part in the following activities to make sure this is a fun-filled day for all.

£1 Book Token

Your £1 book token can be used to buy one of the brilliant books from this year’s list. Instead of giving out paper tokens, your token is attached to the letter sent home and can be either printed out or used on a phone screen with some retailers. Books can be picked up as part of your essential shopping.

Dress Up!

Dress up as your favourite book character! There are loads of great ideas on the World Book Day website for homemade and easy outfits. It would be great to see as many book characters as possible on our live Teams lessons and in school for those who are in.

Teams Activities

Your teacher will take a break from the usual lessons for the morning and instead you will be completing World Book Day themed lessons as well as listening to plenty of stories alongside chances to read and share stories.

Show Your Shares!

Please send in any pictures of your children reading or sharing stories at home. This could be you reading with them or the children sharing books with their brothers and sisters.

Please email any pictures to info@stamshawjun.org.uk or to your class email.

We would love to share a gallery of pictures on our school website and social media.

There will be a £10 book token for the most imaginative or creative ‘Story Share’ photo!

The closing date will be Friday 5th March and a winner chosen by Mr Jones the following week - good luck!
